    used to have a cat, Whiskers. He became indoor/ outdoor and was digging it. Initially we'd put him in the backyard to play with the dogs, but he kept breaking fence pickets, which then would allow the dogs to get out. So we started putting him in the front yard. This was about a year ago. This last Labor Day, we put him out while we went out of town for a couple days...no big deal, have done that lots. Leave the garage cracked, plenty of food and water.

    He hasn't been back. Kinda bummed. He was cool. And fat. And moody. But he was a good pal to have around. Never got declawed because he never scratched our furniture, which is pretty amazing. Would bring us "presents" during the evening (little field mice).

    I still leave food out for him, in case he decides to come home, but I'm not expecting that to happen.
