Looking for info on the rough country 4in suspension lift. Anyone have it? Anyone had it and hated it? Good bad ugly??? I'm looking for it all. Pics? I'm new to all this so any good info will help.

What is the purpose for you lifting your rig? Mall crawler or actual plans to wheel it? What's your budget without tires and wheels?

It's a drop bracket lift. You will have to cut the front crossmember to install it.

I don't really need it for a lot of off-roading. I'm a hunter and some of the places I hunt require me to use the 4wd. But I guess I do also want it to just look the part as well. In my experience excessive off-roading tears things up and my pockets aren't deep enough to be tearing up a nice vehicle.

Budget... I'm willing to spend money on the right stuff, but I also have to take into consideration I'm married and the wife isn't gonna let me go ape shit with it. She wants me to "dress it up" as she's so eloquently put it.

I do know I'd like to be able to fit 33x12.50s or something close to it. Also looking for a nice stance to the truck but nothing to crazy.

3" > 4" not really worth the extra inch for a DB lift kit. Plus you get more clearance with a 3" lift over a 4" :anonymous:

Ome 885 coils with 1/4" top spacer and bilstien 5100's, and a aal ... along with a cab mount chop and some trimming... I have that exact setup pretty much and clear 33-12.5 easily, no rubbing!

... stance, get some wheels with back spacing.

For $300 or so more than he's spending he could have a full 3" OME lift with Dakars.

He doesn't even need dakars and he'd be under shooting his budget! Personally I like the bilstien 5100's over the ome shocks ... better riding shock to me!

Dakars ride better than a single AAL btw..

The leafs that come with these trucks are garbage. Either an AAL or progressive AAL are just bandaids and will eventually fail. Best bet is to trash them and get a full replacement

Not saying they don't, just from a budget perspective he'd be fine with a aal (for now) ... I agree dakars would be a sound upgrade, but not completely necessary for his explained application.

As I stated I'm pretty green when it comes to this topic. So all of this info is great! I'd like to refrain from cutting things if possible...

    Also to medic2230... RMFTR:yay:

Your going to have to cut to shove 33-12.5's, unless you do a 4 or 6" db lift... which we all think is a bad idea... cab mount chops are very popular on here, they sell the kits to weld pieces of flat steel back in there to prevent them from rusting and corroding ... and take your time fender trimming, it can turn out ok if you take your time (most of the trimming is the bottom of your fenders, and inside the fender wells).
