Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.

They weren't able to total it...they are literally cutting the roof off to fix the truck... this bitch is going to Carmax same day I pick it up from the shop.

Can't blame you one bit upon hearing that. I knew it wasn't a pretty sight after the accident.

They initially wanted to do even less after the tree fell on the roof of my previous F150. Finally raised enough of a stink to get it totaled.

Shop got the damage up to nearly 30k... good on them. I'm still waiting for the adjuster to take a look.

Push as much as you can, don't accept the initial number. Comments on the length of time I had already been in a rental plus my expectation of returning frequently if it wasn't done right (more rental time) probably helped push them through the grey area into the "repair-ability" was significant, so despite the disparity in quote versus value on what was a recent purchase, it got totalled.

I'm going to fight for it to get totalled. The shop called and let me know they contacted them with their estimate and are waiting on an adjuster to evaluate...only OEM PARTS. I won't budge on that.

Cool. Whiteline makes a nice replacement rear sway bar (35mm I think). Much better at controlling body roll if you like driving fast. ;) ....but I don't know anyone like that. :spy:
