older style tail lights to replace 2015s

Yeah...they went back to them starting in '12. But '09-'11base trucks had LEDs.

 

You might be able to turn this thread into a tail light swap thread similar to the scoop/no scoop thread. I had the red ones (storing them just in case) but swapped for LEDs (Depos). By the sounds of it, (with so many of you wanting the red ones) it won't be as lop sided as the hood thread.

 

i would love to trade someone with my older style lights for the new LEDS. I will take pics, they are like brand new! If anyone is insterested let me know!

 

LED = barf and pink rev = caca. Pick one.

Well, I don't feel lonely here.
I thought LED's were the answer to every lighting issue but have grown to dislike the "Rice Lights" in back. A while back there was a picture of a throw back taillight on a 2nd gen that looked great (part of a tribute), if only that was available. Real orange turn signal look great.

But that's just me.

I got a replacement off eBay that had identical design as OEM but BLACK interior housings.
Much less rice IMO and agree the chrome ring and clear lens etc is excessive.

My replacements came out of California for about 150 CAD.

 

LED with no chrome daisy...........


not LED and no pink rev light..............



not sure of other options to sidestep the ricey or the pink rev.....................post'em up if you do.

The smoked daisy ones weren't available when I got mine but SR5 and I have mix of chrome and black...........matches 3rd brake light.

 

I followed this link to buy these lights and the listing said these only fit up to 2014, so I sent a message and asked why because the 2014 and 2105 were the same truck? The seller's reply was that the plugs are different. Is this true, the plugs are different between '14 and '15?

 

Why not just get some red vinyl and put that on the rears? Best of both worlds, no more rice and LED tails.
