Also some kits you may be seeing are running 10" c/o's and need the shock in the shortest configuration possible

Can you run long travel coilovers on a mid travel setup. I have the chance to buy some long travel ones to replace my crappy ones right now.

well my logic was i wanted 3 inches of lift and i heard the more you crank down the shocks the rougher the ride so if firgued why not buy longer shocks

*if* you can get them to fit it would probably give you way too much lift. Unless you had a really short coil. But then the shocks gonna bottom out way before the bump stop

Oh okay. So it's going to give me to much travel, given they are long travel coilovers on a mid travel. Now it all makes sense. Thank you for saving me from a costly mistake.

No, don't think like that lol, not to much travel, its to much shock. Your suspension will use the shock to bump instead of your bump.

Im considering doing a somewhat mild build to my tacoma. I want to convert it to long travel set up but itll be more for show than for function. I live out in the desert and would obviously be fun to rip all out but i wont be abussing my truck too much considering my budget and my experience driving. I just want to go with a basic build that wont hurt my pockets too much but will look really good and can have some fun as well. Since i dont plan on starting anything until next year, I think i could end up with a budget of 10k+. This truck will be my daily driver so id like to build it properly and have good parts in it so that im not always spending my time fixing it. I am willing to wrench pretty much every weekend if need be and im fully capable of learning to work on this type of truck.

I kind of want to do a similar build to alex's(sytfu510) build. I like that its a mix of a long travel set up and an expedition set up. That would be the route i would like to go. His truck has a lot of fancy gadgets and such that i dont understand what they do yet but i dont think ill need them. I just would want the parts necessary with a few items to customize my truck to my own likes. Let me know what you guys think and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If it's just for show, buy wheel spacers and Bilstiens and slap some King stickers on them.

Yeah you can, throw some 885s on the 510ps amd put them at the 3rd highest setting, youll get like 5" of lift up front (but might break something). Combine that shit with some lift spindles=Profit

Considering going LT in phases... Can I just my OEM King extended travel shocks once I put LT LCA's on until I can replace them with LT Kings?

You'll limit your travel considerably, if they'll even reach the mounting points on the lower arms.

Sort of the same question asked a few posts up.. but I am wanting to do LT suspension and glass fenders and what not to my truck. My truck is a daily driver and I do not wheel or go off road at all. Strictly a pavement princess. But I absolutely love the look of Prerunner/trophy trucks. My question is with doing this to a truck that sees no dirty or abuse at all, will the Lt suspension hold up? Will I still be torquing ever weekend and still risk breaking stuff? Thanks for the help guys
