3rd gen Snorkel

Only place I could find that had them. They may have 1 or 2 left from their initial shipment.

 

Sweet! I've jut been checking ARB.
It says cutting of the fender is required (obviously). It doesn't specifically say anything about the A post. That would be rad if it doesn't need an A post bracket!! Let us know what the instructions say tomorrow please!

 

I will. Looking at the photos, it appears there is a bracket on the A post.

yeah but i didn't pay extra or install the grill on my own...

 

It may be ugly but it should do its job. Not having to stop every so often on trails because the dust has tripped the maf sensor will be worth it.

 

I have to write this...

people have said that snorkels are used more for dust than water crossings. and then they will tell me that the bigger dust particles stay lower to the ground so you don't suck them up into the air box. that makes no sense because I would rather suck the big particles into the air box because they are easier for the filter to catch

You'd be sucking in both heavy and light without the snorkel. I have a snorkel on my Land Cruiser, after driving 2 years on the dirt roads of Wyoming I have never needed to clean the air box. Every time I open it up to clean it I find nothing in there. I know a guy with a 2nd Gen Taco who didnt have a snorkel and his air box was constantly full of dirt and his engine was always throwing codes.

 

I have a snorkel on my FJ Cruiser. It's honestly one of the best purchases I've ever made on and off the trail. Even for everyday driving, it helps during the pollen season and the lightly flooded streets here in Florida after a rain storm. Other vehicles would hydrolock themselves trying to cross and I would have no issues.

 

X2 if you can just post some pictures of the actual instructions. I will be getting this snorkel for sure. Just want to see how it goes, on a couple folks rigs first.

I generally like snorkels just from a looks standpoint. That snorkel is pretty ugly.

It looks awesome.. and not as big as the ADB photos.. it might be the light.. I'll definitely be in the market for one of these..

 

Awesome! looks great! it's hard to see but looks like you might have ditch lights? If so does the snorkel interfere ?
