I have a back up light problem. I have a cap on my 2013 Baja, and at night I cannot see out the back window. I'm looking through three panes of glass, including one that's heavily tinted.

I searched the forums but could only find a solution for 1st gens. Can anyone recommend some sort of super bright replacement bulbs for my back up lights, something I can just drop in without any modification?

    Thanks.

Have you considered flush mount pods instead?

No reverse light bulb will be the best fix.

@tacomgee and I both have 40W diffused, flush mount LED pods from @Iggy. and the output is amazing. It's a night and day difference (literally..).

He's got an aftermarket bumper, but I'm using an OEM bumper.. 2 3" square holes for the pods and you're set.

I have a rigid LED taillight strip mounted under my tailgate. The reverse lights crazy bright, it lights up my whole driveway. Even the brake lights by themselves. Take a look at this thread.

No idea. I'd be worry about melting the plastic assembly with a high wattage halogen. LEDs are always cooler for the same wattage.

That being said - and it's subjective - this LED is fairly bright, bordering on obnoxious. Anything brighter will cross that border.

They don't draw 50 watts nor does it state they do. They are marketed as 50 watt equivalent so they likely draw 13 watts or less. Also they're not 50 watt equivalent since a 40 watts light puts out 450 lumens (source http://lumennow.org/lumens-vs-watts/), so at 410 lumens they're probably a 30W equivalent.
Finally they cost $90 while JDMs 800 lumens cost $20. Anyway.... I'll let you draw your own conclusion.

Says right under the price "50W White LED". Doesn't say actual or equivalent.

Also if you look at the 410 rating, they explain why their rating is so low vs what you would expect.

I have no knowledge of these bulbs other than what is listed on their manufactures page.
