Yeah a local place actually wants about 400$ more than if I ordered from ECGS and did it all myself. So Im debating on how lazy I wanna be and if its $400 worth of laziness. Not looking forward to doing the front end

Front ain't that hard, just time consuming. I have a complete spare front third assembly at home, gunna build that one and swap it in there in the next month or two, if you can wait I'll let you borrow it for a core as long as I get a core back when your done

Haha I appreciate it, but I've got a spare front core already, trying to track down a rear now. Waiting on a quote from Califab, debating on the 9" now or just regearing what I have for now. The Wife brought up some promises I made about a bedset a while ago lol, so thats now priority #1. Sigh.

If you don't want to do the install yourself, I would pay a shop to install ECGS cores.

The ECGS warranty and the experience they bring to the table is why I went with them. I didn't want some local shop that has set up a dozen differentials over the last decade to be doing the work when I could have guys that all they do is differentials doing the important work.

The front differential is a bitch to do by yourself. A second person makes the job a hell of a lot easier.

Yeah, its really looking like the 9" is veto'd. As much as I want to right now, its gonna have to wait. I'll just have to buy it part by part like I did before. And yeah, after chatting with a guy about how he sources his part I already decided to buy all my diffs from ECGS. They know what theyre doing and the warranty is mucu better than "I dunno, a year warranty on all parts and labor"

Got an 06 acess cab with heavy ome all around, rear topper, arb with synthetic lime winch up front. Planning on skids, sliders and rear swing out. Also got the manny with 3.73

With that final set up would 4.56 gears not be enough? Or should I get 4.88s? Not sure if anyone can comment

Got 265/75/16 and getting 285/75/16. Tire size calc has shown 4.56 would be factory and 4.88 would be more performance oriented

Yes, the calculator may say 4.56 but with a 6-speed you’ll be disappointed with your hwy MPG’s If you do that.
    I’ve got 4.56’s and I’m pushing 35’s.
I wish that 4.30 was an option back when I did it, I’d have that ratio.
Realistically I’d stick with 3.73 or maybe up to 4.10 if your only going with a 285 tire.
    Just my $.02.
