Hello everybody, this is my first post, and I want to start by saying you guys have already helped so much with my Tacoma, and the build. I have a 2012 4x4 and I went with the toytec King kit with adjusters with total chaos ucas. And toytec AALs. And to be completely honest I'm super bummed with my $3700 purchase. 90% of driving is on road and my truck is crazy stiff on little stuff, and bottoms out easy on big stuff. I believe it's the add leafs so I know I'll have to get a complete pack for a better ride. But my question is, how do I get a better overall ride without a 3" rear lift in rear from the dakars.

I want the truck to sit level, and to feel like the back matches the front better. I heard someone saying that you can pull a leaf out of the dakars for lower ride height

Thank you! Love the truck but after spending this kinda coin, and all the work installing, I need a little miracle in rear ride quality for me to keep it. My commute is to long and it hurts my back. I aired down to 28psi just to manage it

Yea same here I run low psi but I have a spacer lift I saw long travel taco while walking and it squeaked like hell I thought once you'd spent a lot of coin it be set but dosent look like, my rear was bad after aal lift too I just got longer shocks than I thought and it feels way better still not as comfy as I thought hard to drink coffee with out spilling it lol

the dakars will ride rough and sit high with no weight back there, removing a leaf will help both of those areas. once the leafs break in they will settle down quite a bit after initial install. just be prepared for the dakar squeak.

That bums me out a little. I don't have any squeaks at all right now. But I just can't believe how shitty the Tacomas rear suspension is Stock, I have the off-road with the 3leaf and it just bottomed out way to easy. And now with the AALs all I got was a uncomfortable stiffer ride, and still hit the bumps way to easy.

There seems to be some fixes for the squeak. Dakars how are pretty stiff with no weight so I recommend take some leafs out

How much front and rear lift do you currently have?

So you recommend going with the Dakar and taking some leafs out? Do you know which ones?

I currently have like 1.5-1.75 maybe of rear lift and 2.25 lift in front.

I don't personally have experience with dakars with any leaves out I only have the full pack experience so I can't say which ones but I think people take one of the overloads out

So your front control arm angles should be reasonable for a good ride.

If you don't want a full leaf pack replacement look at the 3 leaf 1.5-2" progressive AAL for the rear that rides worlds of difference better than the hyper stiff single leaf. Toytec/headstrong/icon/wheelers all sell the same one under their own names. I've got it on my truck and rides amazing. Better than stock.

Thank you for the help though. I know I'll probably have to do the dakars. I just want my truck to feel more evened out with front. And if someone has some experience on here with my setup, they might be able to give me pointers so I don't have to redo the rear 5 times in trial and error.

I have the toytec (deaver) 3 leaf pack currently. And I'm not happy at all with it.

Going to go find some Sand bags for the bed to see if that helps the ride lol

Are you running the OEM TSB 3+Overload factory leaf pack? Or the failure prone 2+Overload factory pack?

Do you have the adjustable dampening on the rear shocks, also? If you do, what is the setting?

weird I have 5100s and a 1.5 add a leaf and mine rides good. Someone else mentioned a progressive add a leaf back instead. I think that will ride better than dakars. what shocks are installed in the back?
