1st post, because I shot myself on the foot:
My tacoma (05, 2.7L single cab) had been running ok with the exception of a blinking AC light. the AC would make weird noises and seemed to pull power from the truck: it will hesitate on throttle and just overall felt a bit sluggish with AC on. So i did a quick google, heard about the magnetic relay. I followed this thread btw: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/a-c-light-blinking.107982/

Me thinking its an easy job, I didnt read it througly and went ahead and decided to try testing with swapping the relay from A/F HEATER, with the TOWING TAIL.

Doing things quickly and without thinking, I think I put the realy from TOWING TAIL into the empty slot: C/OPN. I tried turning on the truck, the truck didnt start (power ok, I can hear the starter try, no start).
I went back, realized my mistake, put the relay one slot down and tried again. Didn't start.

So I kinda freaked out, I put everything back the way it was, NO START.

I did a little research, I for some reason feel like I blew the relay for the fuel Pump. I read that the closest thing to a relay for the fuel pump is the EFI.
I swapped that out, with a brand new one(color blue), and bought a new A/F HEATER relay and replaced it. (its color gray)
    I tried starting it...same thing, didn't start.

So now I'm not sure what the issue is. any help?

Did you check your fuses? Are you positive you've put everything back to the way it was?

Time to bust out a power probe and test every fuse to make sure they are really not blown. After that you will have to check every relay to make sure they are properly engaging or "Clicking" as they should. Start there. Report back with the results. If you did wirse damage than that then you may have fried some wiring.

Lets not cross that bridge unless we have to though.

OP, there are multiple fuses you should check. EFI (20A), EFI No. 2 (10A). Also, check the fuses under the dash (IG1, IG1 No. 2).

So if I read this correctly you have no relay in the C/OPN Slot?

You need a relay in that slot as that is what powers the fuel pump. also check the EFI Fuse 20 ampere and the IGN fuse 15 ampere.

I have no relay on the C/OPN Relay; there wasn't one there before. Can someone take a look at their fuse box and see if there is a relay there?

So this got me thinking, I suppose I really blanked out and moved the C/OPN relay over instead of the TOW one. I moved the TOW one over to the C/OPN open slot and it started!
Thanks for all the support, I feel like a huge idiot...I'll try to slow down next time and take before/after pics.

The best way to test out your relays is by manually energizing them. There is one positive and one ground. There should be a diagram on the relays which indicates which ones you need to ground and power to power it up.

I did something similar, i swapped some relays and ended up frying my junction block inside the cab...

    Glad I could assist.

As you can see in the print I provided above without a C/OPN relay the fuel pump will not run.
