    Hello Everyone,

I just got off the phone with a Toyota Parts Center, who informed me that Toyota does not offer this feature for the 2015 Tacoma. Has anyone purchased/ installed an off-market remote starter kit, and if so what brand do you recommend?

Viper, specifically the 5706v it's the most badass system I've seen and it took me like 3 days to wire up. A shit ton of work but well worth it. I advise buying on Amazon ($160) as opposed to like Best Buy where the bend you over ($450-$500)

In my last four vehicles I've all used a Compustar system. I recommend the Prime G9. No frills, the remote isn't ungodly large, no screen to break, and you don't have to be in cellular range for it to work. It just does (work). I've had in for 19 months so far without any problems. I had a professional shop install it, don't have Best Buy install anything, they overprice it and the install is usually shoddy. It cost me $400-450 installed, but I have a manual which requires more equipment/labor.

I got a basic starter from avital with a 1500 foot starter distance. It was $300 for parts and install.

Was told I can upgrade it easily for another $200 and get the phone app to start truck and gives you notifications on trucks security.

Oh yeah forgot to mention I also drive stick but I installed a switch for my clutch that bypasses it so if you park in N you flip the switch to bypass clutch and remote start but if you want to park in gear on hill or something then you flip it down. Minor inconvenience but it's worth driving standard. Also the range is 1mile and the remote has a shit ton of security features and little runtime settings

Are there any stand alone remote starters that work with the factory alarm?

My used 2013 I just bought had a remote starter on it. Didn't even know it had that feature until I accidently started it one day with the key fob. Was pleasantly surprised. I like to use it to start my truck when it's cold outside.

Theres a kit on Amazon that uses the factory remote for my 05 but the issue i found is that once the truck is started you cant use the fob to unlock which is a deal breaker for me.
