5 Lug Long Travel 2rz Turbo Build

Might as well replace the harness too, at this point. Lol.

 

Lol the only one I ever pop out of that fuse box is usually the 12v aux power. Might pull up a separate harness later down the road into the cab.

Also plated up my floor. Going to use silicone for the gaps. Might try to look for something like bedliner or some rubber stuff for the underside.

 

Geezus dude! I feel like you are building race truck, with the amount of work going on here. How long has it been since you have driven it?

Did you plate the underside as well?

It's almost a race truck. She'll clean up very soon to start hiding all my work. I'll stop into Napa and check out that flex seal. Underside is pretty much single layer sheet metal besides the front. I figure just to spray the crap out of the underside to rust proof anything raw. Truck doesn't see water very often in socal. Almost 6 months of working on it when I make the time. Hoping to be driving a week after Halloween.

 

Damn Fine! Think about the only thing I can do to my truck is build a cage. And secondaries up front. I so like how the Tacos look with the cage coming out above the cab and tied into the bed cage. Great work man!

 

Could do the whole inside in bed liner. Chassis saver first to stop all the rust. Could do chassis saver on the underside too. That's what I did.

I did rustoleum bed liner on my last build. The firewall on my DD has held up really well for years with no touch ups.

Thank you sir. I think I went full circle back to the rustoleum bed liner. Less mess and it's just like 8 holes I need to do. Plus I can't find chassis saver in store in socal.

On update note. Window goes back in tomorrow. Wrapping up the cab this weekend. Hope to get pics soon for you guys. Rain got in the way the last few days so I had to cover everything up.

Pretty rare, but it does happen. New window. We are suppose to get sideways rain Thursday night so I'm ready. 2 months without a windshield I took some chances.
Might do a 4" Vinyl across the top instead of sun visors later down the road. For now flat biller hats should do the trick.

 

Windshield is all sealed in?

 

Yup, ready to keep the water out. Took the window guy 15 minutes to put the new one in. He laughed at me when I said it was an hour to cut the old one out with the horrible tool I had. Almost took a picture for an interior update, but it's a mess right now.

did you drop and 360 weld it? im almost to the point of dropping to weld then do seat mounts and all thr triangulation.

im also throwing a third seat in mine like @Bonzen

 

Are you pulling the center console & putting the 3rd seat behind & between the front two?.... I've thought about it

 

yep going to be cutting the floor and lowering it since i have a fuel cell and then making semi hollow center console so the person in the back can put their legs under but driver pass will have arm rest and cup holders

 

Nice looking forward to how that turns out. No 3rd seat for me. It's for storage back there. Yup she welded 360. You can see on pg 19. Only section I couldn't weld all the way around was the seat mounts which is overkill anyways. You'll see those pics next week. It's a mess right now.

 

Finally done welding this cage up. Got the seat mounts in. Lowered them a little over an inch over what it was. Feels nice sitting a bit lower in my truck. Letting the paint cure. I'll be adding a few details later on, but I want to try the truck out first.

Still need to mount all the stuff under my hood I cut out. Pics of that mess tomorrow.
