Does anybody know of fuel carrying systems for the bed/bed rail besides the rotopax?

Something that can be mounted securely.

Would be nice! It would be fairly simple for someone to fab a mount though. :bananadance::fingerscrossed::anonymous:

What are you looking for Jim? Something just cheaper or something different to fit specific needs? What's wrong with Rotopax?

Maybe a little cheaper if possible. I do like how minimal they are, and you can tuck them up at the front of the bed. Just seeing what other options are out there

I think one of the main draws for Roto is that they are thin so they don't take up too much space. If space isn't an issue, you can stack them too for more capacity. Some people say the small size is a negative but until you've had to hold a 5 gallon container of fuel at about chest height while your truck sips it up, you realize the smaller containers is kind of a plus. I carry a generic 5 gal container that you can get at walmart or any gas station, but it is a pain to secure in the bed of the truck since I don't have a mount for it. I've been meaning to build a carrier for it that attaches to my tire carrier, but I keep pushing it back. I'll probably get on it this weekend since it'll be rainy day garage fun for me. I think the only real trick to having options for carrying fuel is having a mount for whatever container you choose. They're really not that hard to make, but I can see how that could be considered time consuming or not cost-effective.
When I had my moto, I would carry extra fuel in an aluminum water bottle looking thing. It was made just for fuel though and was Teflon lined to prevent corrosion or fuel contamination. Of course 30oz. of fuel goes a long way in a bike, but wouldn't do much for the truck...

Just imagine the water cooler refill, but now at your fuel door. Sh!ts made of comedy! You see a lot of people mount the jerry cans high and use gravity.

I picked up one of those shake syphons and it works pretty well. If it was long enough, I could keep the gas can in the bed and refill from there. I used it by resting my can on the bedrail cap and let gravity do the rest.

I definitely like the smaller sizes too. I couldn't even lift a full jerry can, especially chest high for a refill. Weak AF.

I'll probably just grab two 2gal rotopax and rail mount when needed. If I need more than 4 gals in an emergency, I'll call you guys
