It's not hard to wash off. However it is hard to get ALL of it off so later when you're laying on your back replacing your steering rack bushing or whatever dried mud isn't constantly flaking off into your eyes, nose and mouth.

    Lmao...
Funny you mention steering rack bushings. My car is making a funky clunk noise when turning and my bushings are shot/rack has some play. It's actually mostly why I'm debating whether I should come or not lol!

I just replaced mine last week. It helps that I don't have a sway bar in the way. It drives so much better. Before the truck would need constant steering adjustment to get it go straight.

I also recently went from 235 85 16 all terrains to 255 85 16 mud terrains. The mud terrains don't help much with going straight.

Edit: I just noticed you have a 1st gen and live in Campbell. I also live in Campbell so if you need a hand with that bushing just let me know.

So Hollister got a full 2 inches of rain last night. Might want to check for trail closures before going.

I'll call tomorrow at 8:00 when they open to confirm there open. Didn't see anything about rainouts on their site.

From their Facebook this morning: "About 1 in of . Usual #rain closures are in effect: Renz & Adobe closed, TT & Lodge MX tracks closed. Hudner Closed. Mudstone Closed. Expect it to be busy this weekend at ."

Not familiar with the trails. Will these affect trucks or dirtbikes/quads only?

Ball Joint bushings? Better get that taken care of. They have a tendency to break while making turns, usually in busy intersections. Bring it over to IQ Autoworks on White Oaks Rd. in Campbell (http://www.iqautoworks.com). They the best front end work in the south bay.

I chickened out. I rather not put the added stress/forces of going off terrain while I figure the noise out.
Hopefully you guys will post some pictures.

Ill do some maintenance and get rid of it so I can go on next trip.

I do all my work cus I'm in school and have little $$. But I'll be doing new rack, rack bushings, inner/outter tie rod and lower ball joint. Well see if it goes away.
My CV's have some play but I'm not sure thats the issue.

Hope you guys had a good trip. I'll make one of these some day. Probably need some better tires for the mud so maybe when its dry again.

I was the only one to show, but no worries. I went solo, but an hour and half into the ride I jumped into a small group of three jeeps, two moderately modified, and one stock. Figured I could handle whatever the stock jeep could. Learned a few things from the leader. Great group of guys. The park had it's muddy spots that were a blast. The more hilly areas were moist but had still had good traction.

    Glad you had fun, man.

On another note, I did the Yellow Wire Mod today. Since TRD Sports don't have rear lockers, this should help us out a lot. I thought you'd be interested in it too. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/4lo-trac-abs-kill-switch-why-why-not.257444/#post-6254094

Yep, should work fine. I haven't gotten to test it out. But what's not to like about having TRAC in 4LO?

Hold up, yellow wire mod is for lockers...if you're looking for the ABS kill switch theres a link to it for TRD Sports in the same thread.

Jeff, looks like like YMW is for TRD Sports (like yourself) without ATRAC or locker. Am I reading something wrong?
