    Nope the bayonet can be detached, it has a very discreet CAI import mark under the muzzle that says it's a M38.I think the previous owner may have added it at some point.I'll see if I can't post some picks, he did a BOL scrub on the stock and it really came out nice.

    Is the bayonet numbered to the gun? I'm not a big fan of the m38/m44, I personally like the rifle length more.

    The bayonet is not serial matched to the gun. I'm not a big fan of the M44/38 either, lots of kick with either of those. I do have a Type 53 and a M44 I picked up for cheap from a local private seller.

    New England Westinghouse M/N 91




    This one has double SA stamps. Thought that was cool. The shop had 2 other New Englands sitting and all three have the D stamp. Only one had the filled ID disc cutout and wire hangers.

    Beautiful weapon, Westinghouse and Remington are on my short list of wants. I just renewed my 03 CR license so the hunt continues.
