The mounts that came with it then just slid screws in the profile and used a locking washer and nut. I can take pics later if you want!

It was bugging me before but now totally understand! Can you still tighten up the RTT with the Toprac's optional lower mounting brackets?

Worried about leaking after install. Don't want to deal with mold/ruined headliner.

How many of you guys with the rack are experiencing or experienced leaking and what is it attributed to?

    Thanks.

Yes but it is tough. I had the lower ones on for awhile but the 1" of height difference was worth the hassle. Plus, then the racks don't line up.

Pictures? That's my favorite method of learning next to hands on. I'd appreciate that. Thank you!

Zero leaks here. Rtv sealant worked great. Blob a Hershey kiss sized amount into the hole as the directions say, drop the spacers in, drop the rack on, and slide the bolts right through. Easy peezy. I'd say install is a cinch but i've seen some grown men do some silly things with tools before. If you're at all good with hand tools you will have no problem.

I'm one of the grown men @goblue82 is talking about. I fucked up the installation of my access rack six different ways, but no leaks whatsoever.

Nahhh, Bruce. I've seen your rig. You're legit, man. Weather stripping give you issues? I've noticed that's what gives most people problems. The 3/4" punch method is what I used. Super clean look and easier than the rotary tool method imo.

That's affirmative. Measure twice (I eye balled) and give it a good whack or two. Still gotta remove the weather stripping though (obviously) and place on a wood block.

    Let's see...
    1. Punch with the weather stripping on the truck: check
    2. Drill into wiring harness because access cab: check
    3. Pay dealer $650 to replace a harness I now know I could have fixed for a few bucks: check
    4. Fail on two of the plusnuts: check
    5. Realize that if I could do all that and end up with a functioning rack then I could install my own lift, by myself: check

For those that are using the maxtrax mounting pins on their racks, what nuts are you using to mount the pins? Thanks in advance, just trying to gather parts as I await delivery.

I built 4 individual 1" X 1" x 4" square aluminum tubes and attached the mounting pins vertically through them. Then used 1/4-20 carriage bolts to attach them horizontally to the roof rack crossbars. Quick hit of paint and bought plastic end caps from Amazon to finish it off .
