A few mods here and there and counting....
I'm building my 2nd retrofit on a set of depo headlights for an 07. I built a set 4 years ago with TRS morimoto d2s kit and didn't have to grind anything down. Straight plug and play if you will. I now have TRS newest morimoto d2s kit and it appears i have to grind the back of the bowl down to fit the first locking ring on.

Basically, I'm asking for any tips, advice, or instructions to go about tackling this.

    UPDATE:
I just took the reflector out and grind it flat. Got the locking nut on. Just waiting for nightfall to properly adjust before reassembly.

I used some type of ink pen in the crafts section of Walmart... Tabbed a qtip on the tip and put it through the lense gap

Peter thanks for the info. I know this thread is old but have a question.

On factory lights they have the rubber boot that seals around the bulb. I have the fx-r projectors and am curious as to how they seals up. Thanks and pictures would help out alot.

This is a mini d2s but I trim a part of the boot off (the solid rubber piece that originally went around the halogen bulb)

Same way, cut it just big enough to allow the igniter to go through it, pop the boot on and then put your igniter on.

The igniter is pretty big. I'll have to see what I can do.

Your bulb should pass beyond the back of the headlight assembly. Then just slap the rubber boot on and connect your igniter.
I use the same process on every set.

The bulb does but the housing gets in the way. I'll have to try it Saturday night when I install them

Thank you for super detailed instructions, I'm 90% completed. Just waiting for the JB weld to cure on the back of housing and then I'm ready to seal up the whole headlight.
