just bought a 1996 Tacoma 4x4, 5 speed and was hoping someone could give me some advice. Most of the time it is very hard to get the truck into 1st gear. Sometimes it's hard to get into reverse. And at lower rpms it kind of "kicks" into 5th. 2nd, 3rd & 4th are perfectly fine. Anyone have any tips? Thanks for your time!
By the way this is my first thread so sorry if I screwed up something

I'm not much of a stick guy, but I would say it might need a fluid change. Being a 96 it might still have the original fluid in it so it could be a little dirty and thick which might be some of your trouble. My 98 ranger was hard to get into first sometimes.

    ...we'll get there.
Fluid change may help, but your trans sounds like it is starting to go

Dont know what you've checked or not but your symptoms really resemble low clutch fluid behavior??
