I know there are tons of posts about towing with the 4 banger but I haven't seen one on the 3rd gen.

What are your experiences? Pictures would be awesome!

Depends what you're towing. The 2.7L does alright. Search my name in the show us what you tow thread to see what I was doing with my 2005 2.7L regular cab.

2016 SR 4x4 5 speed 4 cylinder! Probably somewhere in the realm of 3,000 lbs total with the trialer! Did three loads like that on the same day, pulled it like a champ and the 5 speed helps so much for slowing the truck down with the motor!

Real good handling the weight but wouldn t want to haul more than a quad or two or boat for long distance . Really fine for flat states without long hills

Very nice! I've seen your thread with all of the mods you've done to your taco. Did changing your air intake make a difference in your opinion? Did you dyno it after? How much hp to you currently have with the upgrades you did? Looks like that afe intake is up to 2015, did you have to not anything to get it in or was it bolt on easy install?

Everything was bolt on installed, here is the dyno specs!
I copied this from my build thread!

So today I ran the 2016 SR 5 Speed 4 Cylinder on the Dyno for the final test after the new LCE Engineering Header. So here are the results!
You have to take the #'s i got and add 20% for the chassis Dyno!

So the stock truck ratings are 159 hp & 180 ft. lbs of torque.

Looks like with the AFE Pro Dry S Cold Air intake & Stock Exhaust I gained 3.94 hp & 6.82 ft. lbs of torque.
Then the gains from the LCE Performance Header & Stock Exhaust are 12.39 hp. & 8.30 ft. lbs of torque.

So overall with my AFE Pro Dry S Cold Air intake & the LCE Performance Header & the stock exhaust I gained a total of 16.33 hp & 15.12 ft. lbs of torque. Its defiantly noticeable with running the LT 265 75 16 tires and my 3" lift.

This run is with the Stock Header & the AFE Pro Dry S Cold Air intake:

This is the run with the LCE Performance Header & the AFE Pro Dry S Cold Air Intake:

    Both the Dyno runs combined:

I just towed a single axle 5x12 uhaul trailer loaded to the roof from Phoenix to east tn. sr5 access cab 4x4. It went much better than I thought it would. travelling at 70 to 80mph I saw about a 4mpg loss compared to the trip out. no noticeable sway, some loss of speed on uphill climbs, and it was reluctant at times to shift down to 6th. overall no complaints aside from 26+ hours straight driving
