I ordered a Brute Force Fab HC with swing out and fold down table. It should be the same bumper as Aaarons, but Billy changed his swingout design since then and I like it much more.

Are you picking your bumper up across the border?? I've been wanting a brute force rear for awhile now but website says he doesn't ship to Canada and I'm to lazy to go from Vancouver island to pick it up at the border.

Yeah, I'll have to pick it up in WA. It's a bit of a PITA but it gives me an excuse for a road trip

That's what I thought... I'm torn between going to pick up a brute force fromWA or get a pelfrey shipped straight to my house from cochrane Toyota

I didn't know pelfrey shipped door to Canadian door! I'll keep that info handy for future needs. I imagine it costs a fortune?

Well cochrane Toyota is a dealer for pelfrey and they will ship toy your door! Email Kyle at kgeorge@cochranetoyota.com for quotes and all that! It's actually very reasonable price wise from some previous quotes I got from him. It's still a little cheaper to go get it at the border but will save you a bunch of time. I believe last time I talked to him an aluminum front with centre hoop was 1900$ Canadian which is exactly what an aluminum would cost straight from pelfrey with exchange

Doing some weight reduction because reasons. While I'm in here I'm noticing that these trucks have way to many sensors and wires and stuff. If I don't know what it is, it can't be that important, right?

Fixed broken picture in last post.

Had a busy week. And only broke 1 plastic clip!
-Installed the 5806V remote start/alarm Sarah got me for Christmas last year.
-Also installed OEM heated mirrors (I got a kit from a guy on here that used mirrors from the Hilander).
-Yellow wire mod should be neat.
-re-ran wiring for my center console switch panel to better location, tucked up with the stock wiring that runs accross that metal tube behind upper dash
    - finally tied all my aftermarket switches into dash illumination circuit
    - ran wire for the ABS Off switch mod. Didn't have time to connect everything but I wont have to take the dash apart to finish it later.
    -put winter tires back on.

I just (roughly) added up what I've put into this truck. It's a surprisingly large figure considering I've hit a lot of group buys and gone through some trouble to save a few bucks. If anyone actually follows this thread, I recommend you do not add yours up!

Yes! Just over a year ago now. It's been a pretty low mileage year but I've been enjoying it.

We had a beautiful sunny day yesterday and I was 100km shy of oil change time. So I took the dogs to the lake !

The lake is freezing over already. sad.
Then I came home and did an oil change and replaced a turn signal bulb.

Sooo I'm applying for jobs in Nunavut. Sarah worked there for 3 years and keeps telling me how great it was. It sounds like a really cool adventure. Plus, the money isn't bad.

Arviat, NU is one of the towns I'm looking at. Trouble is, the whole darn territory has no roads between communities. You can only get in/out by boat or plane. And it costs $5k+ for round trip flights back to southern Canada (to see family and stuff)

Challenge accepted. I've ALWAYS wanted to do an arctic expedition via truck. I wanted to do the trip to the '96 north pole way up there, but to Arviat would be a cool way to get some experience with that kind of trip.
Whole area is dotted with swamps and lakes. I imagine it's ridiculously boggy in the summer. The many river crossings should freeze up for most of the winter though, so that would be a cool time. Except the eternal darkness.

I should be able to stop for fuel in Churchill before the slightly longer leg (about 300km following the coastline). Breaking trail in the snow will require a hell of a lot of jerry cans. From my previous experience I think 26 jerry cans gives me enough, including quite a bit of reserve in case estimations are off.

There used to be a guy that hauled stuff to Arviat from Churchill over the ice on old Barbardier B12's. I wish he hadn't died a couple years ago; would have been great to get some info from him.

Where are you picking up the bumper? Have a place just across the boarder? I feel like I have asked you this when you ordered it but I went back and couldn't see it

Anyone following this able to help me do some troubleshooting?

My front drivers side is making a noise when the suspension travels (hitting potholes, etc). It sounds like a mild clunk, like something is worn and has some play in it. I jacked it up and wiggled the wheel and could not notice any play though. UCAs have new uniballs, the rest of the drivers side has some miles on it.

My passenger side (which does not make this noise) recently got a new wheel bearing, tie rod end, and LCA complete with new bushings and lbj. This was courtesy of insurance after the incident a couple pages back. Because these items are all older on drivers side I suspect one of them is the culprit.

Anyone have ideas for how I could narrow it down? And has anyone replaced the LCA bushings (preferably with poly instead of stock)?

I would guess it's lower ball joint or the ball joint on the UCA. Do you have someone available who can sit in the truck and turn the wheel back and forth while you look? Or get the whole thing up on jacks and grab the wheel and push/pull back and forth? check the tie rod ball joint when you do that.
