I am happy to help, and there are a lot of others who are helping as well. But thank you.

My 2015 Ram 3500 shift flared itself right back to the dealer . I now have a 2016 TRD shift flare. At least it's a 23k cheaper shift flare.

I'm surprised you saw this behavior in the Highlander. My wife has a 2016 Highlander and it shifts perfectly and feels way smoother and more powerful than my Taco. Honestly, I wish my Taco had the nvh of that drivetrain.

not just that, are they replacing it with a refurbished trans or a new one?
There was another member on here that was saying toyota wanted to replace his with a rebuilt trans, then you have that on your record for the truck that it has a refurbished trans.

Just for a flare its a bit much, I would've waited a bit more.

Normally a replacement would be a refurbished unit, however, I will be receiving a new (latest date code) unit.

Hell yea. The 3.5L is quite a beast if you let it wind up. I find 3500 RPM and this thing hauls ass. Also, Toyota builds a better car than a few people on here would like to believe, I'm not scared to let it sing at 3500 RPM for a while to get up that hill. This thing is a tool, not to be abused, but certainly don't be scared to use the damn thing. This week we sold a Camry with 340,000 miles on if for $2000. Sure, there's a few bad vehicles and QC items out there, but by and far Toyota is still a hell of a vehicle. I'll take that turbo too if you don't mind :)

Does your transmission do that when the Truck is warmed up?

Yes, but the flare is about 100-200 RPMs.

I do believe the "if" came back positive as well as the "when". The good thing is: I am no longer seeing flares when the engine is warmed up. We will see how long that lasts....

The good thing, for Toyota and us owners, is now they have my old transmission, which was a bad violator, to write code against for TSB code testing purposes. Cheers.

The 4 speed auto on my 1982 Mercedes 300SD used to flare up when she was cold. There was no "programming" involved either, everything was vacuum actuated.
