**OHIO WHEELIN' & MEET-UP THREAD**

It will be in the truck this Saturday if all goes as planned, soon after will be all hooked up and running but I've got to help my grandma move into her new house on Sunday, since she moved from Mississippi and has been staying with my mom for the last 3-4 months.
Still will end up needing a few random parts I am sure but I'm cutting it down to the end, everything but intake and exhaust is on now, I'll put it in the truck like that. I should have a little help on Saturday to put it in.

 

Cut my cab mounts some more. See if it quits rubbing

 

Motor was sat in there tonight but it was fighting every step of the way.
Just wanted to install exhaust studs before pulling it off the stand, well one stripped out so we went to the shop and grabbed a helicoil sort of thread thing.
Well ended up being the wrong size, went back to shop and grabbed a stud that was the right size.
Ok works good now that's done, engine is on the chain and my thread sealant was all dried up so went to autozone to buy more thread sealant.
End up getting idler pulley and fuel filter as well.
Installed flywheel and clutch.
Go to set it in and pizza is here, go eat pizza.
Come back out and it just didn't want to line up for shit, adjusted chain like 10 times and FINALLY got it sat in on the motor mounts and bolted in.
Lucky I'm off work tomorrow so I'll be working on it all day. I'd like to see it running tomorrow but you never know.

 

Go Tribe!!! my truck is ready for an oil change so I think I'm gonna do that and rotate the tires. I might even wash it if I get a wild hair.

Only thing I hunt is paper and steel. Had my 458 AR out the other night and shot some paper with it.

 

No hunting for me this season yet.

But I've been busy

 

I was out last weekend in southern, ohio...no luck at all.

 

I haven't seen any deer around here. Usually there are tons at my parents place.

 

Anyone going to SOR?

 

I been out a lot the past 2 weeks and I been seeing a ton of deer. Lots of does and small bucks. nothin to hang on the wall yet but we got some big ones running around where I hunt

 

How you liking the 458?? I'm seriously considering buying one.

 

Don't buy one if you don't reload your own ammo. But otherwise I love it. Been working to figure out what works best through it

 

I do reload a lot of my stuff. I'm wondering if I should just get a straightwalled cartridge of I can hunt deer with it

 

Still has to be straight wall per Ohio law. .500 smith or 45-70 would have my vote if your shooting at any range or through brush.

 

Got the 308 out today.

 

The old taco lives, worked on it all day yesterday from 8am to about 6pm, then wouldn't start...
Lol found out there was 2 different timing marks on my new LCE crank pulley and I lined up the wrong one, adjusted the timing and it fired up, just drove it like 10 miles that night.
Still gotta put some miles on it to break her in.
But she's alive after x amount of months being down, just in time for winter.

 

Got the 308 out yesterday, and 30-30 out today. Played on some hills in the taco. You can't see shit over the hood.
