... for ice, so I went with this. Stock tires&rims will be back in April.

Wondering if I need to get new locknuts with those rim? The washer are really useless.

You need lug nuts with the offset, those aren't the correct lugs for those wheels.

You need conical seats; stockers are a flat-mag style, with extension for thread engagement.
Flat-mag style puts the clamping force on the flat.
Conical puts it on the taper of the wheelstud hole.

Proper lug nuts - yesterday. Don't drive that shit unless you're feeling both suicidal and homicidal at the same time.

Pretty sure it won't explode but did buy new one, will be installed tonight and the truck won't go nowhere with the old one (that I will now call summer one).

Thanks for confirming me what I thought.

Though the lug nuts might not look good...they are just fine to use. The bottom the shank is tapperd to accommodate the spare steel rim.

    You really are fine.

There is a TSB specifically telling dealers not to use those lugs on steel rims due to corrossion on the lugs themselves. They rust like crazy when loose like that in snow states.

That said they are designed to work as two types because spare tire rims are steel, there is no danger in using them, its just best to have 2 sets of lugs. Plus it looks better.

Welcome to the studded tire club!

    Thanks!

Rust was also a concern. It's fairly common to have a winter and a summer set anyway.

Well it was Sunday, I thought Canadian Tire would be a good place (given Sunday...) for that. I also figured an extra one could be usefull. Those smart guy gave me nuts that are way too small for the wrench in the truck. Sounds like I'll need another trip tomorrow after work.

Highjacking my own thread,my spare has a pretty sticker saying temporary use only. WTF? It's full size&same tire as the other 4...

Standard fare, the spare tire rims are actually sold as winter rims, so they are strong as hell. I think it has more to do with simple insurance and safety reasons. Plus there's no TPMS. Offset is often different.

I agree; OEM alloy lugs are fine for the OEM steel wheels.
But, the stud holes on the OEM spare are larger than aftermarket steel wheels to accommodate the large taper put on the shank of the OEM lug.
I can't tell if OP's steel wheels are OEM or aftermarket.
