Hey guys, Ive got a 98 tacoma limited and my driver side door handle snapped so I have ordered a replacement. Ive come across an issue though. I remove the single screw that is found inside the handle itself, and online it say just slide it forward, but mine wont budge. what do I do fellas? many thanks

sometimes they are stuck....it's already broke though right? Just hit it forward. New one should have backing plate and handle.

Soooo, just how big is it? Can you like fight with it?

It wont budge at all, and its snapped right where the cord connects to the handle. Ill try with a bit more vigor
    Thanks for the reply

Don't you have to pull front half out then slide forward toward engine?

the backing plate (where the screw is) goes forward toward the engine. Handle stays on till that comes out (his handle is broke) I'm just saying IF he has a new backing plate....don't worry about breaking it( the dish like backer)....they do break easy as old as they are.

Yea and after looking at mine I was mistaken about it being two parts.....I have too damn many vehicles to remember how every door comes apart and they're always breaking handles....oh well, still more dependable than new ones.

I always buy both sides because if one goes the other is soon to follow.
And congrats! you just became a full fledged member and a pro at door handles.
