1981 Toyota 22R Pickup, 2003 4Runner SR5

Hi all, happy to be registered with TW. No pix yet. Planning to purchase and have been doing some research on G3 Tacoma. Still partial to the Toyota truck as my first truck was a 1981, the year the 22R came out, and I had a blast with it.
A couple of questions I was hoping to get your view on:
First, will the Toyota Safety Sense P become available in the 2018 Taco? My local Toyota rep doesn't seem to know for certain.
Two, I test drove a 2017 TRD Sport A/T double cab yesterday and my wife who sat in the back heard an audible clicking noise coming from the back (I'm guessing the rear differential gears). Has anyone noticed this? I'm sensitive to such noises as my old 2003 4Runner SR5 had a steering stops issue that the dealer told me required constant lubrication but the noise was present even after lubrication. It became an annoying problem to live with after a while.
