    Dealer installed lift kit
I just took delivery of a 2017 Tocoma last week. This is my first non Ford product.

This truck had factory installed running boards and a dealer installed lift kit and Toyo 285/70r17 tires. It was sitting on the dealship main display floor this way and displayed on thier web site.

    The truck Looks great!

I drove it 500 miles last week and the speedometer is about 5 mph slow at freeway speeds. I understand the impacts of the larger tires, but as a dealer installed option, i expected the odometer to be recalibrate for them.

The dealership is trying to tell me Im the first person to EVER complain about the difference...which I know is BS. They are also telling be these is no way to reprogram the odometer, and hinting that I may need to buy a 3rd party accessory to correct it.

Is it unreasonable to expect the odometer to be corrected for dealer installed options ?

    Thanks

Welcome! I spent a few years in Fort Worth. Good town

As far as your question... 5 mph off seems awfully high. When I went to 33s my spedo was only 2 mph off at highway speeds and I'm not going to worry about that. I'll regear once I go 35s and that should bring the spedo back to normal.

    Welcome to TW!

I would think if the dealer sold the truck new with a lift and bigger tires that they would be responsible to re-calibrate the speedometer.
