    Hey guys,
Hope you all could shed some light on a few of my problems.
    1) I have 8 rock lights but three arent working. I have replaced the plugs to each light that isn't working and they still wont work. I replaced the lights that weren't working and still nothing. So Im hoping you guys can give me some ideas. All my lights are on water proof plugs with dielectric grease.
    2) My front pods which are hooked up to plugs that are plugged into the factory harness are no longer working. Curious how to check the pods to see if they work on their own. If its the factory harness thats gone bad or the fuse for it how will I know?

I have been decent with my electrical work so not sure why so many are failing. Hoping you guys could help. I will add a pic of the rock lights so you will get a better pic.

My first thought is you have dielectric grease (which is non-conductive) on the pins of your connectors or you wired some of the lights the wrong polarity (if the lights are polarity sensitive).

To test your wiring unplug the connector at a light and connect a voltmeter to the battery side of the wiring. You should measure ~12.6Vdc when you switch your lights on. Just be careful not to short the + and - leads of the voltmeter together otherwise you'll blow a fuse.

To test individual lights if it's easy to remove them connect the light across the battery terminals (if your light is polarity sensitive make sure you connect it correctly). Otherwise if you have a 120Vac to 12Vdc converter you can test lights that way (disconnect the lights from your truck's wiring before you do this).

Thanks man for a quick response!
Not sure if they are polarity sensitive. How would the dielectric grease cause any problems? If I have a test light (which I don't know how to use) would that help?

If the pins in the connectors got covered in the grease it could cause a bad electrical connection (resulting in your lights to not turn on).

Try doing a Google search for how to use the light tester. But in your case it might not be completely accurate if you connector is filled with dielectric grease. If the grease is all over the connector pins try cleaning them off. Or if that's a pain replace the connectors and pins and don't (or sparingly) apply the grease.

Let me know what you find.
