Nope, you ain't winning a Best of Show at the local Concours d'Elegance but beats rust any day if you ask me. Keep a couple of boxes of nitrile gloves and a jump suit around for when you work on your truck.

It doesn't wash off exactly easy but power washing and high pressure car washes will take it off so don't go crazy. At first it's a viscous goo that eventually picks up dirt, small sticks and rocks and congeals into a slightly tacky goo.

I'm good until the Spring, and thinking - fluid film group buy? Seems like fluid film and Tacoma go well together- I have seen many variations of fluid film kits on eBay and Amazon-maybe a Tacoma kit
I have a nice old jumpsuit, and got it out just to apply the fluid film - right on, Brother

Yeah, I just got my truck over the weekend and one of the first things was to FF it. Super easy to do. But when I got home from work yesterday and was changing out of my work clothes my dog was barking like crazy in the front room so I went out to see what was going on and saw my neighbor in my front yard waiving me outside with urgency. He said "hey, your truck is smoking!" I had to tell him what I did and why it was smoking :D I did thank him for watching out for me and letting me know.

I am not sure, I got home and was only there maybe 8 minutes when I came out to my neighbor and there was no longer smoke coming up. I didn't notice it when I parked but I did notice it right after driving it the first time. I would say 2 or 3 days it might do it and not for long after. I coated my whole underside pretty good too.

Most of the excess will burn off the first time you drive it. I did get some additional smoking when I drove up a long hill.

It's no big deal - just know it's going to happen.

If you get it on the exhaust it will smoke for probably the first 5 trips you make 2-3 days.

I covered everything under the truck with no care if I got it on the exhaust because I knew it's not flammable lol

Anyone use the aerosol cans to spray the underside? How many cans for coverage? 3?4?

I did my wife's Yukon and used half a gallon. I plan on doing my Tacoma this weekend now that I got the lift on.

If you have a compressor buy the kit with the gun. It really is the way to go imo.

The cans are useful for inside the doors and for touch ups or tight spots but they go quick. And when you get towards the end of the can you can spray upside down.

I forgot exactly what kit I bought but it was two 1 gallon containers with a pump for it, two small containers, the gun and 2 or 3 spray cans.

    Sorry for the messy workbench.

I am about ready to do this . A couple quick ?'s When I spray up through the door bottoms , does this spray on the window glass and speakers ? Does it cause a problem with the glass and speakers ? Anything else to worry about ?

I like that pump. Anybody know where it can be bought separately?

I removed the door panels when I did mine. This video shows the speakers in the doors at 1:55. There is really nothing protecting the back of the speakers.

Pump does not work well. I bought one and I'm pretty sure I threw it out. Just get a plastic paint can lid with a pouring spout. You can order one from Kellsport or get one just about anyplace that sells paint.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1s8NoCbe-m8
"This item works "ok", but not great. The pump only transfers 1 oz. of Fluid Film per stroke. The Fluid Film bottles are 32 oz. So it takes a lot of pumping to fill a bottle. We recommend just using the yellow pouring spout from Kellsport Products, with a funnel in the bottle."

Just pour it into a funnel from the gallon can

that seem like the best way ! What has to be done to remove the door panels ? Are the clips that hold them on good for reuse ? that link/video does not show removing the door panels .
