Lol. Get some gloves they are a fingers best friend's. At first they are a little awkward but you will figure it out.
I've been wrenching since I was a teen-ager and worked on aircrafts for close to ten years. I was just looking at all the scars in my fingers and hands the other day from 29 years of wrenching and knuckle banging.

Man this mod took me about 1hr to do but about 1 month to convince myself I can do it. I'm not a wiring tech but after going over the post again & again I went for it. Couldn't be more happy! Thanks op

Torty B, love it! Which lights did you go with? with lens or without? facing out or facing down?

I read through this whole thread. I like this write up the best, this is what time going for. I run my dtrl's all the time so I would want the LED's on with them. Would like to do this mod. Is it necessary to wire in a diode to the dtrl's and the parking lights? Would you happen to have a diagram of your wire up?

I don't have a diagram sorry, the diode is necessary if you wire to both the parking light and the DTRL's you will need 4 diodes two for each side.

If you just tap into the positive of the tdrls without adding diodes wouldn't this work? I'm just trying to figure out why the diode is necessary. Sorry if this is a stupid question

Yeah, it's not an absolute necessity to add a diode. These LED lights draw very little current. There should be no issues with tapping into an existing parking light for voltage, and will not harm the circuit. Hope this helps.

Not stupid at all. The diodes are only needed if you run the leds to both the dtrls and the parking if you only run the power to the dtlrs then the leds will turn off when you turn the heads lights on. That is why you need to run power to the parking lights as well. Or you can run the power only to the parking lights but the leds will only come on with to the parking lights.

Ok, I just doubled check my truck. My blinker (drl's) lights stay lit on every setting. Not sure it this is supposed to happens. In the picture my lights are on the headlight setting. Obviously my headlight are running as well the side markers, but also the drl's.

Normally the DRL's are on and full bright when you have the DRL switch alone ON or when you have the DRL & PARKING LIGHTS switch ON .... but when you turn HEADLIGHT swith ON they should dim

I see, that's what I figured. So I assume that if you only hooked to the DRL's they might turn on with the headlights but they would also dim?

These are the ones I used, and to tap in to the wires I just used the 18-22 gage wire tap. I hope this helped you out good luck, this is one of my favorite mods I have done.
