I've been out of the car audio arena for over a decade and am having to play catch up!
I have an iPhone i do everything on. It would be cool if the screen would appear on the radio for the gps and movies. Will Car Play do this? Or is it just a general feature some devices have?
    Cheers!

How do you like the Apple Play? I'm in the market for one.

I ended up going with an Android HU called Joying. You can learn all about it here. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/new-head-unit-with-wifi-reception.439966/
tgear.shead knows his android devices and has helped out a lot. My truck has the JVC subwoofer upgrade so I'm getting a bit of noise with it. Those that don't have the JVC upgrade haven't had any issues. Overall it's a great unit. Cheaper than most lousy pioneer and other HUs that are wicked expensive for less functionality.

If you are looking for that. :)

I could talk for days about Carplay.... Ive owned a Pioneer NEX4000 since before Carplay was out, and its definitely not a perfect system. Really hoping software updates will give it more capability. I always say that is is definitely not my typical apple product, where it just works how it should, doesnt error out, and does everything you want. It's buggy, glitchy, and lacking soooo much compared to what it's capable of. Some of this is Pioneer's fault, some of it is Apple's.

Having said that, the navigation works well, taking calls works well, music is only OK, and SIRI works decent if you keep the windows up. I really look forward to what this can be like in the future. Still optimistic.
