Surging issue fixed in the 2009 Tacomas?

    So I just talked to a sales guy about the '09 Tacoma and I asked if he knew if the "surging" issue with Tacomas has been fixed and he said that he believes it has been fixed and thats what he has heard.

    Anybody know if this is true? Also, how about frame corrosion - Has it been fixed on '09s ?

    I know the truck is brand new and not everyone has been able to test one, but if you could help me out, that'd be great!

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    i have no surging on mine...although i have been acclimated to pushing the brake pedal down hard enough now...and do u mean frame corrosion as compared to the 95.5-04's?

    That was quick - thanks!

    I'm not exactly sure the model years that had the frame corrosion/rust issues, but I'm aware of the problem. Didn't know if the problem is still being produced on new Tacomas.

    Personally, now that I know of the surging problems, if it happens to me, just throw it into neutral or just shut the damn thing off for cryin out loud.

    Anyone else, chime in if you've got anything.

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    the only surging i noticed to begin w/ was if i barely pushed the pedal down enough to hold the stop and the a/c or blower would kick on and jump the rpm's and the low level of brake pressure wouldnt hold it anymore. i got used to holding the brake down further and didnt have that prob on my 07 anymore...havent noticed it on my 09 yet...i'll have to test it out tonight and see
