Yes you're correct as they shaved the femur and tibia to attach the prosthesis there now no more knee joint

They're saying it's were the prosthesis is screwed into my femur is were it's at . and this is why I'm getting a bone scan and CT scan to confirm

 

Wow... That's pretty harsh. Is it your choice, or their's?

 

I'm to active I guess even though I've got a sports style knee replacement that is designed for active younger people I believe its worn out

Looking at my pedometer app on my phone I've walked 280 miles since Aug 29th of this year

Not sure when as I still need the bone scan and CT scan then my surgeon will discuss my case with the chief of Ortho . I was denied for further surgery 6 months ago but hooefully this time it can get done

I know you are active.... what caused the original damage?

 

I had a severe injury to my r/knee in 1983 during a CAX exercise at MCAGCC 29 Palms . I tore my meniscus , ACL ,MCL and PCL . This injury was also what ended my military career . after the military I became I heavy equipment mechanic and this placed more strain on my knee

Back in 2007 at the VA I found out I've got degenerative arthritis and my r/knee joint was pretty much destroyed

This is crap. Wait In pain for years?
I had my hip done at 55. Yea I'm disabled and in pain until I'm 65?
What about those active 10 years I wouldn't have had. How about working in extream pain during those years. Or being in a wheel chair untill 65 and not working and being on welfare because I can't work. Lose everything I have before I even retire. My doc was great. What you are describing is the old way of thinking. He even mentioned that. Get out and enjoy life before you can't. Their replacements are designed for people that sit at a desk. Not for people that actually work. My doc told me he had a hard time putting mine in because of my high bone density.
I'm sure there are doctors out there that can get you fixed.
My friend had his knee done 2 years ago and was playing tennis 7 weeks later. He still plays 2 times a week. There are fixes out there and I pray you find someone that can fix you....

 

Unfortunately Mike VA care is not the best most of time it is the same as when in the military hurry up and wait. Unless you have private insurance which when you use it for things the VA is supposed to cover becomes a nightmare at best of getting recoupment etc .
