Have you had anyone with the blind spot monitors order yet. I see what cbi had going on in the 3rd gen form and I wonder what mobtowns solution might be. Yah I have the back up sensors and the bsm.

    Bumper weighs approx 105 pounds.

I don't have any good "real" photos of the inside of the bumper. We've shipped quite a few but people only upload pics of it on the truck from the outside.

Here is a CAD image showing the internal structure.

We do things quite different than most bumpers out there for good reasons.

All parts are laser cut on a 3500 watt Trumpf CNC Laser and formed on a Trumpf 220 ton 12 Axis CNC Press Brake. We use 3/16" thick plate steel on the corners, middle and center, the attachment plates are 1/4" thick plate steel and the recovery points are 3/4" thick plate steel.

Let's start at the corners. Our corners are made from one piece of steel for maximum strength, aesthetics and repeatability. This allowed us to stay tight to the truck and follow body lines. Then we cap the ends to add more strength to the corners.

The middle of the bumper is all one piece built on the same press brake. Then the corners and center section are welded to the middle.

Where we really made engineering improvements is the internal high clearance hitch and the recovery points. Our hitch is built from the same materials as an off the shelf hitch, 2-1/2" square x 1/4" wall A500 steel tubing that runs the full width of the truck. The tubing is cradled in the mount plates that bolt to the chassis, this way you're not relying on weld only to keep the tubing from pulling off the truck. The receiver is then held in place with 1/4" thick plate steel wrapping around the inside of the bumper and it passes through the bumper outside which is 3/16" steel, again encapsulating the tube and not relying on weld only. The plate that wraps around the receiver has spots to hang trailer safety chains and the brake disconnect cable. We also weld a plate internal to relocate the trailer plug up and out of the way so you can use the stock plug but also don't lose ground clearance or have to worry about ripping it off when on the trail.

We aren't able to tow rate the bumper but we can say with confidence that you will never have an issue pulling from it. We put a lot of focus and engineering into the hitch portion because I trailer from my truck all the time and didn't want to ever have to worry.

The shackle points are 3/4" thick plate steel, wrapping around the hitch tube and being welded in place, then passing through the bumper and being welded to that too. A lot of bumpers use this technique and have it part as the attachment plate but that is often only 3/8" thick which in our testing showed to be too weak for side pulls. So we did what we did and then put a bend on the top side of the attachment plate making that far stronger than just a flat piece of cut steel.

The bumper uses factory license plate lights and the license plate is attaches to a flip up license plate bracket that hides the hitch when not in use.

I hope I answered all your questions and let me know if I can answer anymore.

    None :-((. Yet :-))
Joe Does the swing out have a table option like the pellfry? Is there space or an option to mount maxtrax on the swing out, and what about the back up cam is it just lost in the shuffle or is it relocated?

Sorry for all the questions, but I need to spend my tax money before it gets pissed away

    Pete,

We can add a table option. Haven't done it yet because of time and demand.

We haven't made a spot for maxtraxx. We probably can figure it out though.

    The camera will be relocated.

Do you guys have a better front bumper coming out? The ones I've seen online look terrible so far.

I'm waiting to see what Mike's rear bumper looks like before I order this.
