Its been a complaint forever, if you do a search you will see it even continues on the 3rd gens too. Depending on your year I think there is a TSB for pedal replacements. Mine would make terrible noise when it was hot and humid so I ended up using some disc brake grease to lube everything and its been silent ever since.

A little lithium grease properly placed has had mine quiet for 2 summers. I just sprayed a little on the linkage.

There is no permanent fix. I've tried all the fixes in the forum & all seem to be temporary. I just grease it when it makes noise & enjoy the quiet til it starts again.

From what I understand this is the golden answer. Now that it is getting cold mine went away but next summer this is my first try.

yah, my first gen had a squeaky clutch pedal also but it wasn't as annoying to me for some reason. Maybe I'm just letting it get to me or something.

Had the TSB done on my Tacoma under warranty. Dealership replaced clutch pedal and master cylinder about a month ago. So far, there hasn't been any squeaking and the overall feel of the clutch has been improved. Hopefully this does the trick (permanently)

I had the dealer do the TSB on mine a few weeks ago, too. So far so good. And the pedal feel is improved, too.

Had the squeak, did the TSB, squeak went away for a few months, lubed the shit out of the pedal to rod pivot with anti-seize - squeak is gone... There's a post on here where one member with the pre TSB assy had the pivot break and thought it was due to the friction that develops when it starts to squeak...

Hi guys, my clutch squeaked horribly. Simple fix, I just turned the rod clockwise about 20 spins. I really don't know if it was tightening but the noise instantly stopped. The rod is so loose it can be turned by hand. I'm no mechanic but this really worked.
The rod has a nut up top and it goes into the enclosed cylinder when pressed. just turn it and the noise goes away.

I went out and tried this but found that mine is too tight for hand turning so I tried vice grips and I could only get about a quarter turn out of it.

That really sucks, mine just spins by hand :(
the noise was horrible and whenever I was on the phone, that person would comment about it. I just drove the kids too hockey and they couldn't believe the annoying noise is gone. Sorry it didn't work out for you.
