Just seeing what others are getting. 01 double cab 6" lift, 20x12 wheels, 34" tires (295/60/20), 4.10 gears and supercharged with auto trans. I'm averaging about 12-13 mpg. Do y'all think this is super low or is that about what I should be getting with my truck combination. I'm looking to re gear soon and probably go down to a 33" tire. Im stuck between 4.30 and 4.56 gears I'm hoping to get a little better mileage out of the gear set up. Truck seems to struggle at mid range then once in over drive is hunts if I'm going over multiple over passes. What kind of mileage are y'all getting with yalls trucks and what combination do you have.

I didn't even get that when my truck was stock. It only got about 17 driving from Dallas to Houston with some elevation and hill but nothing really major, but I was cruising about 75-80 mph. No Sc just stock truck with headers and 4.10's.

Have you corrected your calculations for odo/speedo error you have introduced?

Well I didn't actually put the calculation in for the speed o it's off 5 mph but buy calculating the mileage vs gallons it's pretty close. I think I'm losing most of my mpg in the mid range. I have to get on it pretty good in that area.

You'd be wrong. That's a significant amount. 5 mph at 60 is a 12% error. And that's also 12% in your odo. Every 1000 miles you are off 120.

Your MPG is lousy, just not as lousy as you are guessing.

That would still only get him up to about 14 though

Ahh ok yeah your right about that I did them again. It's about 14. Not to bad then really considering what I have. Just seems way worse I guess. When you consider the miles on the odo vs the fuel needle.

Have to see what happens after the 7th injector and regear. I'm hoping to get a little better like 16ish is where I really want to be. I just see all these guys claiming 20mpg and I wasnt near that stock. I didn't get that on my 97 Tacoma either best it got was about 17ish.

A scan or ultra gauge will give you real time instantaneous MPG and averages if you can set it up properly to reflect the actual final gearing.

Even better (to me) is driving via a vacuum gauge. Your boost gauge may have a vacuum section. If so, try driving in the 15" range at hwy cruise.

If not, consider adding a pure vacuum gauge. It's also a basic diagnostic tool.

Youve likely got some things needing replaced. 14 is atrocious IMO but I've never run tires that size on stock gears so not certain. Scan gauge is always nice to have, can verify things are ok or not.

On 32" KM2s and supercharged, stock pulley 18 avg, went down not even a full point with 7th injector and 2.1" pulley. Went up with turbo 18-19 avg. I've gotten it up to 23 with the turbo.

I should have my 7th here this week. The wheels and tires are really big and load range E. So it's a lot of weight and rubber on the ground. I'm are there is a ton of resistance. I agree 14 is still to low. I'm hoping for 16-17 I'll be happy there. I'm gonna run the tank down and see how many miles to a full tank I actually get. I believe before it was around 330.

    About the same here.

Supercharged 3.4l v6 4x4, manual trans. ~2" lift. Stock size tires with some added weight (sliders, rear bumper, roof rack) and I get 20mpg all highway, about 18mpg average.

Larger tires really do kill MPG's, the biggest reason I hesitate to go bigger with mine despite all the off-roading I do.

My last fill was 16mpg, almost 100% city and hilly, in addition to not being conscious of gas (edit: plus decent weight at times in the bed). So it can fluctuate, highly dependent on your foot. I try and drive calm, empty bed and average 18+ as noted above

I should also mention that even with the supercharger, I pretty much drive like a grandpa. The truck can pick up and go if I ask it of her, but she never really feels like she enjoys doing it....so I don't do it very often lol. Helps keep the mileage in check.

I've definitely noticed a big difference in mileage if I am heavy of the throttle more frequently though. That supercharger whine comes at a cost.

I wonder what's up with your supercharger. I wouldn't even think to characterize my tacoma as not feeling like she enjoys the boost. Especially with the manual, downshifting and putting the skinny down she pops and whines as though she loves WOT.

It's not the supercharger that feels off, if anything it's the clutch/trans. Anything over 3.5k RPMs feels violently un-smooth (if that makes any sense), but that might just be me still getting used to shifting a truck and not a manual trans coupe.

Of course I'm still on a stock Toyota clutch when I should be using a URD one so that might have something to do with it.
