Added a Hitchgate Solo to my truck as I am a Tester for Wilco OffRoad. Now the OEM Camera is blocked. I want to relocate it so I still have the camera abilities, so I know I have to take the Tailgate Skin off and pop it out of it's holder. But do they make an extension wire so I can make it longer and rewire it? Or I have a new Kenwood Head Unit and would just adding a new Kenwood Camera to the head Unit be a better idea? Thanks for any help you can offer.

I believe so? Just a longer wire that you can hook your camera to? Isn't that what you wanted? They make way cheaper cameras on Amazon for like 15$ that come with 14ft wires

The oem harness is fairly long. About 4 feet from the connector underneath to the camera in the handle.
So depending on the location you want to move it, it may reach.
Now the question is how will it be mounted? Maybe on another modified handle?
If you still need to extend it, you can cut it and add waterproof connectors in the piece out wire.

Did you end up buying the harness from Amazon? or are you going a different route? any idea where you are going to mount it too next?
also! what are you going to do with the section where the camera used to be? to fill in the hole...

Might just leave that one in the OEM spot. And buy a different one to run to the Head Unit.

Roger that! Not a bad idea.
Is yours currently wired to the rearview mirror?

Is there any place to connect it to on the actual hitchgate solo? Or would it get in the way when opening up the hitch gate?

Mine is in the Head Unit, and it will attach to the License Plate bracket
