Post it on Swapalease or lease trader.

If you leased it through Toyota, I don't think they jack up the payoff if you want to trade it, like GM, Ford, and Chrysler do. If this is the case, it's like a retail finance. You are going to owe more than its worth, and you can probably roll that into a new truck, depending if you rolled negative equity from a trade-in on this deal. The good news is Tacoma's hold their value well, and it won't cost you as much as if you had another brand or model. You can cancel any extra's you bought in the finance office and lower the payoff some. It's going to cost you a lot to go up to a 4x4. They aren't going to give you what you paid for it, plus you rolled in taxes and fees, minus $900. Unless you REALLY need 4x4, I'd stick with what you have. I'm guessing if you needed 4x4, you would have got one. Probably looking at $100 more a month to get that 4x4.

Be VERY WARY of swaplease or those sites. If you go that route, make sure Toyota will remove you from ALL LIABILITY once the deal is done. From my experience, lenders won't remove someone from the liability, but they will add someone. It's not in their best interest to let someone get off the deal. Happens all the time in divorces. You have to refinance the whole deal, with another lender, in order to get a spouse off, even if the decree says it's not their responsibility. I've never dealt with swaplease, and I would be shocked if Toyota would let someone else take over the lease, and let you off the hook completely. Also, whoever wants to swap your lease is going to have to qualify just like you did. If they have good credit, they aren't probably looking around on swaplease, they are probably going to go to the dealership.

I have picked up Toyota leases from swapalease, no problems. Your lease payment is decent, I would put that on there with a down payment but you might have to eat the $900 to get someone to take it over.

On the swapalease site it shows the diffferent lenders that keep the original owner on the lease, I'm almost 100 percent sure Toyota does not. I have used swapalease a few times and it is a wonderful resource. It's an easy way to get out without getting screwed at the dealer.

Definitely could be the case, just make absolutely sure you are completely off the hook if anything goes wrong. Don't want to have someone else destroy your credit, just because you wanted a 4x4. If they will take you off, it sounds like a great idea

I am regretting choosing black. Sometime I think of trading it in for quicksand or white.

I used to only buy black vehicles - they look the best IMO when clean and waxed. But now I hate cleaning, much less waxing, on any kind of regular basis. Lighter colors definitely take longer to "look" dirty or show micro scratches/swirls, etc. from power waxers or automatic car washes.
