Hey everyone! I am a first-time Tacoma owner and new to TW. I bought my 2001 V6 4x4 a few months ago and have been working my way through lots of little things, learning about the truck and leaning heavily on the forum here for such great how-tos, pictures, videos, conversations, etc. -- so, thank you!

Now that I have the truck running well, the real project starts. I am removing the bed and building a camper in its place. This will be an over-the-cab style, much like the commercially available units, but much more attractive (in my opinion) and functional (for me). Plus, I get to build the thing myself!

I just started the actual build out this past weekend and made some great progress out of the gate. Got the bed off, floor frame built and mounted, and most of the rest of the frame built.

Excited to be part of the TW community!

Can't wait to see this progressing! Have fun with the build and keep it light! Are you beefing up the springs?

Yep -- I installed some Firestone airbags and am thinking about adding a leaf as well.
