IMHO...you shouldn't have any issues, or need to install a poly drop block for the CB mount.

Honestly, I had to do a little "internetting" before I responded, because for my 5" lift on my previous vehicle (all suspension, arched springs and extended shocks) I used 3* shims installed between my leaf spring/axles to raise the pinion (front of the rear differential, where the drive shaft is connected via u-joint) angle.

And, if you read this article supported by KLM Performance, you only attempt to block drop the CB in "aggressive/greater than 4-6" lift situations, where your stated 2.75" Bilstein/rear block lift doesn't really qualify.

I only know that if you are experiencing driveline vibrations after installing a lift, the CB is but one of the many variables that you need to check/be aware of when things get stiffer and higher at all four corners.

What year and model Tacoma (2WD/4WD?) do you have?

I'm really curious, what "results" or "issues" are you experiencing with your lift??

Is this your lift: Readylift 3.0"

08 dbl long box. there was small vibes before I had the new leaf springs installed from the recall and now there is noticeable vibes at 45-60k went under the truck and checked all the u-joints couldn't feel and play only thing I noticed was there was a good amount of up and down movement on the rubber cb so that's what i've narrowed it down to..

Before you go chasing driveline stuff...make sure you have recently (last month or so) aligned your front end, and had a rotation/balance of all four wheels/tires. I still have a little vibe from 65-70 mph and have narrowed it down to my tires...BFG KO2's are out of round and Discount Tire blames it on my 1.5" wheel spacers (that I have since removed)...I call BS on that, but because it's a "modification" they are stating that the tire warranty is null & void. :frusty:

I dropped $100 at my certified Toyota mech. to check everything, and he narrowed it down to the tires...AND said the wheel spacers won't cause a vibe/shimmy, but will amplify one if it does exist.

Gotcha...you shouldn't need to shim your leafs/axle for this lift, BUT, if you chose to it wouldn't hurt. You don't need the CB drop kit for this lift.

The dark art of driveline specs (IMHO) has a LOT of room for shades of grey...one thing may work on one truck, etc. etc.

Keep checking things off the vibe list (all suspension components, ball joints, tie rod ends, tire condition, driveline condition, u-joints, u-joint grease, etc.) until you have it narrowed down.

Be patient, and be prepared to spend a little time and $$$ figuring it out.

yeah I need to rotate the tire and get a wheel allignment done but I did end up getting a spicer cb bearing for 28$ through work so i'll try that out to start with.

Wheelers Progressive AAL, Firestone RideRite airbags.
Cross posting because I have a stupid vibration and a lot of the threads are having multiple options. Second gen...

At 20mph, accelerating and decelerating I have a vibration. Feels almost like I have mud terrain tires.

My only mod is the wheelers Progressive AAL, with factory overload removed. This was just a band-aid until I could afford Dakar's. But I'd like to get this vibration fixed.

Not sure if I should take it to Toyota or not? Truck has 33k miles. Ive been reading all this drivetrain voodoo stuff.

Feels like the same issue I had, bought new carrier bearing and new u-joints. Turned out it was just one u-joint.
Lift your rear end, block truck and put in neutral then go under the truck and with the tranny in neutral you should be able to check your driveline.....Also When I re-installed the carrier bearing I ended up just rotating it since the former lower portion seemed softer than the upper portion. But give this a try before donating more money to Toyota.

So would just putting a new carrier bearing in reduce a vibration I suspect is coming from my driveline? I have about 2.5 to 3 inch lift from bilstein shocks and a progressive aal with new wheels and tires(285/75r16, 16Ă—8, 4 in. BS) it started once I got the new shoes on. It only starts to vibrate after I brake about 10 mph then fully stopped. That's the only time.

When you say "shoes" are you referring to tires or brake shoes?

Try rotating tires front to rear. See if it changes. What brand tire and wheel?

I have the Mickey Thompson baja claw and the pro comp 7069, I expected noisy tires from these but not a vibration when I brake and at low speeds, around 5 mph(forgot to mention that)

Could be something binding. I was going to say get the new tires roadforced balance but if this is happening at low mph while breaking I feel that its something else.

Could be? But my carrier bearing looks worn too, and I put some washers to lower it and it took it away for a little while but I feel if I can replace the bearing it'll fix the problem but I gotta wait till I can afford an oem one
