diehard battery took a shit. Got another 31, not marine though but it has the exact specs of the marine diehard. Had some issues going from 4 posts to 2 posts but made it work




And the new set up

The stock wiring would not reach so I made a 2-3inch extension of 1/0 gauge and bolted using terminal ends. wrapped the rubber protectant to prevent shorts and good to go.

 

Adjusted the rack. Hoping the thing doesn't leak now. See how it goes.


Also will be building a fridge slide, and a battery tray in the bed in the next couple of weeks. We will see how it comes out. Hoping to have the battery hooked up to a ctek dual solar and dc-dc charger. Money is being spent....

To install (stuff I already have)
-ditch lights
-remount cb antennae to headlight bar on bumper (have to move so ditch lights can go in)
-switch panel in cap tool box
-install LCA skids
-install spacers for front bump stops-limit that up travel for 35's....when I get them.
-install lights on rack for camping.

This is the one I got. Needed to get a reducer to mount it. Trip to Home Depot and good to go.

 

Put it in my cart for later... maybe some engineering will be in order. Make it work somehow - I'll draw the line at black duct tape

Been busy working on some stuff for the up coming camping/wheeling season

Figured since more power, more of these would be needed
And today I got all this mounted. This is in the tool box in the cap.
Lots to do still. Running the wires, install the relay in the engine compartment, and hooking up another switch panel to monitor/control the batteries in the cab.

Haha no worries all good. I hear ya, I had mine kinda setup for both. Now it's a little more one sided. But always keeping the ability to load, tow, etc in mind.

 

Just have to install the dual battery solonoid/relay, run some wires, and do some switches. Almost there but not really....

 

I need details on that solar panel! Need to get going on that project myself. Dual battery with panel in bed and a solar panel on the roof.

 

Well this years electrical is getting upgraded. Went from this:

Now with the battery in the bed I am going to run 1/0 wire to the engine bay where I still have to mount the blue sea ml-acr.

The panel is easy to add to the system. Simply get a solar controller and connect the leads. Done. I am connecting the solar to the house battery and not the starter. However with the blue sea system if the house battery gets overcharged it will connect both to them charge the starter. I just checked and the solar charger has it topped off at 14.6.

 

That's pretty much the exact same setup I want to do. Have it charge the aux battery and trickle over to the starter battery.
