What he said. The regular things that you would multi-day camp with. Then a portable toilet and bags (may or may not use them) that are required for part of the trip.

I have these from Amazon (there are other options you can chose from though):
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00477ZUJS/
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0024O0W94/

Spare parts shouldn't be as much of a issue as it is for rock crawling trip, but you should carry some tools and fluids. Your truck being newer should mean you still have some time before parts start breaking. That being said, you may be the only 3rd gen so spares among the group won't always be a option.

It's easy. Just google racetrack playa. That's what an Acura MDX did when I was out there in January... He was 1/2 way up the Lippencott trail. He entered from the south on Saline Valley Rd. I turned him around before it was too late... Said he was just following the directions on his phone. 60 year old Asian man wearing slacks. No water, tools, recovery gear, or fucks given.

His wife and daughter were not happy with his decision, but he made it off the trail OK.

Can't wait to get that story again after a few beers. I will bring my freeway antenna. Getting to racetrack is no issue, but finding our campsite that we have not chosen yet may be fun...

Ok, DM me what/how/why. Maybe I will get setup for you. I love having three of everything anyway (as long as it is a yaesu that I can reuse the power cord already run to the battery).

    just a few things.
Is there a lot of hard sections on this trail? I did the trail @ Joshua tree (Bedroom canyon road) to the Dillion road on stock tires by myself and I was alittle stuck in 2 places

DVNP is the largest national park in the contiguous US, without knowing the exact route that will be taken it is difficult to say, however there isn't much in terms of "technical" trails in DVNP itself.

The only "Difficult" routes/sections I know of are:
    Mengel Pass
    Echo Pass
    Dedeckera Pass

Depending on the routes we take, we could be doing easily over 100+ miles of gravel, the longer you travel off pavement the chances of losing a tire goes up.

Also, the gravel roads to and from the Race Track are legendary for ripping apart tires. When those roads are graded the rocks in the alluvial fan soil get broken and fractured and turn into knives for "P" rated tires. I've heard stories of clowns losing a tire AND their spare tire trying to get to and from the Race Track. If you ever find yourself needing a tow in/around DVNP, from what I've heard it goes up around $1,000 the moment the tow truck's tires leave the pavement.

Now with all of that said, it is the desert, and if there is a strong rain between now and then, all bets are off.

As long as there is no rain or snow, then ATs should easily get you through the whole trip. The more setup you are though, the more fun you can make the roads.

If there is mud and/or snow (will be taking us up some of the mountains) then things could get fun.

Mengel and Dedeckera are both pretty easy for a tacoma.
