Hey guys, any ideas or tips would be appreciated. I have a 2wd 1999 Toyota Tacoma with a 2.4 2RZFE. It runs rough at idle and the check engine light will periodically flash and I haven't been able to trouble shoot it effectively. It has new plugs, wires, and coils. The codes that continue to pop up are po300, multiple cylinder misfire, and po301, cylinder one misfire. Tired of trouble shooting the problem with my wallet, hoping someone has a better idea. Thanks in advance!

Fuel injector could be clogged? A shop should have a tester the only take a couple minutes to check it out

Had a misfire for months on cyl 1 on my v6 and turned out just a clogged fuel injector, got a new one, installed myself, misfire gone, 255k and still going strong again!!

That's the only thing I could think of because everything else checks out ok. Once I'm at a higher rpm the "roughness" seems to go away, unless I'm going kind of "slow" for the gear I'm in (should've mentioned it's a 5 speed) in which case it bogs hard and takes forever to reach a desired acceleration. Thanks for the response I'll have to check that out!

Haha definitely will do. Yeah that's how I've been trying to look at it, I'm now confident I've got spark pretty well covered! Haha

I'll report back any change once I've successfully had it checked out

Yeah haha, for me, I'm glad it happened. I learned a lot about the truck and engine. Also, if it is an injector get a new fuel filter as well, that'll prevent that from happening in the future. What happened to me after I figured out it was the injector I realized it was all my fault. 255k same fuel tank, there's a lot gunk in there. My cheap ass decided to run the tank pretty much dry one time, I'm almost 100% positive that's what caused it, just sucked up all the shit into the filter and clogged it.

Haha yep. Haven't had a chance to check yet but that's me too. I get gas when it's convenient more than when I actually should

I had a 1998 Truck. With 2.4 I had a vacuum leak at the idle speed needle.
You can back it out and replace the "O" ring from the hardware store.
