I'm in the process of building off-road front and back bumpers. Any suggestions on designs or what y'all did?

This is my rear, more of a prerunner style, not sure if that's what you're looking for

All depends just what your end results need to be

Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
i used 4" 3/16" c channel for mine, just cut legs out of the top and bottom, bent them close and welded up the seems. bracketed with 3/16" 1.5"x2" 90*

them just cut a piece of 3/16" plate for the skid. made it for about $100 and it weighs less than 90 lbs for everything

please say that you boxed the rear frame rails prior to doing that ?

That looks like a lot of weight, leverage and overhang on the ass of yer donkey.

How did you get that tire to lean like that? You have a picture of the mounts you used for it?

I didn't have the same arrangement...

So instead used a tripod mounted Fabtech spare tire mount.
I had to drill thru the bed's floor to mount the carrier tho'
I also used backing plate(s) so it cannot pull upwards thru the bed's floor.

    Not quickly detached...
but with six bolts removed it comes out easy enough.

all my pics related... http://s426.photobucket.com/user/TTORADell/library/Fabtech spare tire mount?sort=3&page=1

I generally pack tools and gear behind and under the spare
to garner as much useable bed as I can.
    Works for me.

Oh yeah lol, I'm currently doing a giant 64" kit so that leverage will be nice to smooth things out and have some stiff valved shocks

I have the aluminum bug. 1/4" plate with 1" recovery points. Holes are for Hi-Lift. Uses stock license plate lights. Same weight as the stock bumper. I don't tow. Built it to complement the Relentless aluminum plate front bumper.
