NEED HELP! TRAC OFF/CHECK ENG. Lights

    I was driving doing about 40, and my TRAC OFF and MAINT. (Engine) light went off at the same time. When i go to accelerate, it doesnt want to go past about 4000rpm. Like it wont shift into 3rd gear. WTF is going on?

    I have a 2012 Tacoma Automatic, 69,750 mi on it. Please help!

    Do you mean check engine light? Maintenance required light is just an oil change light. Get it scanned for the check engine code.

    yes its the check engine light, found another thread on here that says my truck is currently in limp home mode. something about a valve opening to heat the catalatyc converter or something. and that it was $1700 to fix. FUCK THAT.

    If its emissions related Toyota may still cover it. Those components tend to have longer than normal warranties.

    This is exactly what my rig is doing, sounds about right. You think it falls under emissions? I think he's referring to an air valve and pump? I have a scanner at home so ill def. check the codes

    Limp mode is a default safety for any number of problems.
