Just recently bought new 2016 Tacoma TRD sport crew cab. Only about 900 km so far.
Started hearing a weird sound, which I think is louder when I give it throttle, but seems to be there all the time.
Hard to distinguish where it's coming from but seems to be (not in cab, either underneath or in engine) around gear shift or in behind steering wheel or dash.
It sounds like a small rumble or a noisy fan. It is a separate noise from the revving engine. Turned all fan/ac off.

Any suggestions to what is is or anyone else have issues like this?

Is there a link to 2016 Tacoma TSB's.
Also do dealers perform TSB's on new vehicles before they are sold?

No I did not. This wouldn't have been done from factory?

    all tore up already
despite offering greasable u joints, no, toyota does not lube them from factory. multiple Toyota mechanics told me they dont usually get done until 15k service if ever. may not help your noise, but cannot hurt. truck will drive smoother and may even notice better mpg. i noticed a solid difference in the off throttle surge, now smooth as butter instead of feeling like im being rear ended every time i get off the accelerator quickly

I greased u joints. Like others each one took at least 3-4 pumps, a couple of them more. Didn't solve noise issue however.

Hard to explain the noise. Almost like a gurgling noise running along side engine noise. Sometimes it's not there at all. When I give it throttle it becomes louder, even when in neutral , then slows down with rpms.

Didn't take it to dealer yet, as they're 1.5 hours away. Would like to have a couple suggestions of what it might be when I take it in.

Never heard of these. Sounds like a prank answer (kidding).

Where are these bearings located and how big of job to change them?

Yeah I was kidding. Honestly man I'd take that to the dealer and have them investigate. Ask them to take a ride with you, schedule that in as part of your appointment when you set it up. Otherwise you may get there and they'll tell you they don't have the time to ride along.

Was recently in to dealer. I explained the noise. They went for test drive however I did not go with them. Their explanation is it is the GDI pump (or road noise from tires which is a moronic explanation).
My question is what is a GDI pump? If it is the pump making the noise, shouldn't they replace it?

Nobody mentioned it but TSBs aren't performed before trucks are sold.
