I don't like it either but I think it has to do with original build paper work, if build sheet and vin# show it was a pro from factory it would sell higher on the auction block for collectors.

So true.. I see Tacoma's at auction all the time selling for crazy amounts of money to hardcore, brand new, entry level midsize truck collectors.

I know their not collectiables now and may never be! I never said it was! Ok let me make it more clear, back in the day when muscle cars were around, guys that could not afford a Chevy SS, Boss, GT, Cobra Mustang or anyother hot car would take their cars and put the badges, wheels, motors in their cars with the cheaper trim trying to make them look like the real deal which would bring more money if they could fool someone, same as a guy buying a Tacoma that is not a Pro and trying to make it into one! That is why I said, they probably wanted it to be a Pro with papers, title that would prove it was a Pro just in case Hell freezes over and the Tacoma Pro became a collectiable motor vehicle and was being sold on the auction block! :frusty:

Agree Zach....However, nobody really knows what will be worth good money down road many yrs from now... Will all the desirable import cars, Supra, EVO, Type R Integra, etc be worth good money 30yrs from now? Nobody really knows? Do you think everyone back in the 60's thought, the rare muscle cars would be fetching big money 45 yrs later? The key still is the number made not really what the vehicle is. I will add also, that sure my old Baja with the TRD SC isn't worth much of a premium of a OR, etc right now, but many yrs from now if the EPA squeezes in more regulations and automotive motors turn into electric power drills 30yrs from now one can make the argument that some would find that a pretty rare and valuable vehicle to have... Only time will tell......

Oh agree bud. These trucks are super popular and the Pros are like the marty mccfly trucks that everyone reminisces about. They are very cool and to someone worth more, but just think some people here are a bit off their meds thinking it will be a collectible or hold so much more resale over a regular TRD to the average consumer, as the previous BAJA and PRO market has shown not really the case and Toyota will make more of them. If I was a PRO owner I would hope they stop at some point so they do become a rarity. If I had the dime I'd buy one.

Would it matter if it was a pro if you took everything off that made it a pro? Like buying a original boss 302 or something collectable and changing out the interior, engine, transmission, rear, repainted it a color you liked, etc. Then had the balls to hold up a title and say well this is a boss 302...... No one would give a shit. It's not a boss 302 anymore. I still find it retarded that someone purchased a limited production vehicle and ripped everything out and now it's not a pro anymore.

I have a feeling that the owner of this truck might just now be realizing how badly he fucked up and just wants to stay underground.

    That is one fugly machine.

Ya but come on, there has got to be someone out there that would see this and has enough money to blow, just to be like your not going to believe this shit when he takes people to his garage. After all, there was some one who had enough money to do this.

I am late to this thread, and regret ever opening it, just like he will regret molesting that TRD Pro.

Money is money.... It's the act I think people dislike. The TRD pro is a OR with extras. Unlike the OR however, the PRO is limited in numbers. If someone showed me a PRO, we'll something that use to be a Pro but not identifiable anymore, I would scratch my head and say, " that's sweet man" but then ask, "couldn't you do this to a OR and save money plus not ruin a limited production vehicle?"

Still a limited edition vehicle that is somewhat collectable. People still jump on 2nd Gen Pros.
