So, Ive seen it a couple of times when i start my truck with just the battery and not physically starting the engine. BUT ive never seen it put on the check engine light as well. today when i hopped out of my truck i forgot to roll up the window so instead of putting my foot on the break and starting the engine just to roll up the window i decided to just put it in accessory mode to get the window rolled up and go about my way; but when i did this the screen popped up and said check charging system and the engine alarm light came on... i checked the manual and it says "shut down the truck and call the dealer immediately" So i wonder. have any of you guys seen this before? is it normal to you guys in terms of it happening because the truck just wasnt completely on? or should i go to the dealership and make them work on it?

picture coming momentarily of the issue at hand

Yeah i just did a step i should have done before posting this and used the search feature on here and found another post of someone asking the same thing

    that is exactly the issue
basically cause the alternator isnt charging the battery like it normally would when in full run the truck freaks out...

its kinda what i figured in the first place but it never hurts to ask for another opinion ya know?

Not quite sure if it was related, but my check charging warning came on twice the day before my cps gave out. I had not noticed it before and it hasn't happened since fixed.

every old vehicle I've had before would light up all the warning lights in accessory II mode. So I just assumed this was normal. Glad to hear it is.

Completely normal... hey OP next time just try hitting the up button on the window... they go up without power turned on or even with the key in the ignition... that's a pretty cool feature. I've done it several times.... forget to roll up the windows after turning off the truck....just roll them up ... it works.

That is completely true until you open the door :/ once the door is open you have to start the truck
