Looks like the mods have already run the Hoover through here. A lot of content gone.

Don't you just love how you take in a truck, and they stuff you in a small compact and send you on your way. I bought a truck for a reason, cause it sucks being stuffed into a little dam car.

    Guess I missed the dirt.

I have to ask, since they are claiming something other than residual oil/grease separation, why would they replace the driveshaft that has no oil reservoir. Wouldn't they go looking for the oil leak in some component that has oil in it instead? Not picking on you, just trying to understand their logic.

There is no "oil reservoir" near that center drive shaft bearing. Not sure why your dealer is replacing the entire drive shaft.

Because he is getting paid to by Toyota. Only reason.
Customer thinks he made out, dealership got paid.
Corporate got stuck with a bogus repair.

I agree with you 100%,that's the only reason. But supposedly they didn't replace the whole drive shaft I'll see tomorrow. Hey who even knows if the center bearing went bad, they replaced it anyway.

The only problem that I see with this, is having some of these "mechanics" work or change something in a good truck. My experience has been that many times, they really do a crappy job. They are being rushed to move as many cars along as fast as possible and things tend to get sloppy.
If I was you, I would get down there ASAP and check the torque of every bolt attaching that drive shaft. Also, if the removed the shaft, sometimes the transmission to drive shaft seal breaks and start leaking transmission oil, I would check on that also. Sometimes the "fix" can be worse than the symptoms.
Just my opinion based on some really bad experiences...

This sounds legit. There are only so many places that can drip lubricant from the DS. The offending bearing with oil dripping from it being the likely suspect. This is a non-issue as far as worrying goes.
