    Thanks man.

Three options for a front bumper in order of probability:

    1. Do nothing
    2. Try to score another 01-04 front bumper and make it work
    3. Have a one off custom Hurr Durr Fabrication plate bumper made.

How about a used ARB, if one can be found? What are y'all's opinions on those?

Either way, can't wait to see what you do. I'm sure it'll be madjikal :dancingbacon:

    lol, thanks.

I personally do not like the looks of the ARB front bumper. Way too bulky for me. Looks good on a farm truck but a sleeker low profile plate bumper is the look I desire.

Yeah, I see that. Guess I'm torn between Crawler, Baja, and Overland styles. I should probably see somebody about my transtaco disorder.

I dunno, I like the way the ARB looks on the Taco. Kinda iconic.
Plus it makes a great spot to set tools when you are wrenching on the Taco. Not to mention being handy for pushing things..
I really wish I could afford one for my 85, they look sick with a ARB.

epic epic build. majority of day was spent reading this. Cemented my decision to go with the OME 881/ Dakar lift option and run 31s. Do you mind sharing where you got your lift from and how much it ran you?

Awesome... glad I can be somewhat useful on TW. btw - I love the lift still and am really glad I stayed with the 31" tires. I highly recommend looking at the Goodyear Adventure All Terrains. They have been superb for me on and off road.

I bought from Cruiser Outfitters after speaking with Kurt for about an hour. Here is the breakdown of my invoice. In the end I did not use the AAL (OME D6XL) and had them assemble the coil/shock assembly for me. I also ordered the extended rear brake line from Wheelers. Think that was $20-ish.

OME 1st Gen Tacoma Suspension - Heavy (Modified) $1,235.00

1 - OME 2881 Front Coil Springs (Pair)

2 - 90004 Front Nitrocharger Sport Shock Absorbers

2 - OME Dakar CS 046R A/B Rear Leaf Springs

2 - 60062 Rear Nitrocharger Sport Shock Absorbers

    2 - SB88 Poly Spring Bushing Kits

    1 - OMEGS12 Greasable Rear Shackle Kit

    4 - OME U-bolts

    2 - OME D6XL (Ship Loose)

SUSTC1STRUT 1st Gen Taco/3rd Gen 4R Upper Strut Mount (No

wow thanks for that. its not nearly as crazy expensive as i thought it would be. I SHOULD be able to handle that install myself. Gotta get some time to get under my truck with a wire wheel and see how bad my rust is before i commit to a lift or any major mods

Did you use duplicolor to color match your grill? I have a friend who has a Sunfire red pearl and he is looking to do the same thing but is having a difficult time finding the correct paint. Thanks!

I went to Sherwin Williams with the paint code. They put it in an aerosol can as an automotive base coat.

Get their two-part automotive clear coat to finish it.

    Hey Madjik,
How do those Polk Audio db651 speakers sound. Did it take any modification to fit them or did they bolt right in?

When amplified they sound great for the price. My rear ones are not amplified and they sound a bit muddy.

Check Crutchfield this time of year. It's when I bought them for $69/pair

Make sure to get the slim ones and they will bolt in and fit perfectly. It will be the 651s model

Digging your truck, how high is your lift? I don't plan on going over 31" tires and love how your truck sits on 'em.
