I own a tacoma 2016 and i notice oil drops on the brake pedal So i check under the steering wheel and there was some kind of fluid coming out from the steering column. It's been a few days Since that and the leak has stopped. I just want to know if this is normal or not. Please i need some advice. Thanks

I think a few have posted about it. I think it was just oil separating from the grease used on the steering shaft.

Don't worry about it, as it's important that you're (steering) shaft is well oiled all the times

Dealers don't just spend money and time changing parts that is not necessary. There is a very good reason they want to replace the assembly, let them do it.

It's likely a faulty grease zerk on the steering column... If that little ball doesn't seal in the grease, it will leak out, especially if it's hot inside the truck...
Then again....why would Toyota put a zerk there and not on the driveshaft..??? :D

The good reason is they are getting paid. That's what irritates me about dealers sometimes, they smell easy money from warranty issues that aren't really a problem. Ask them why it is a problem as some have said here it is not.

I wouldn't let them go in otherwise unless they have a good explanation. Cause more problems than the problem you don't have to begin with.
